Almost a year after Xbox 360 users got to ‘play’ with Netflix streaming, Sony has announced that such a feature is also coming for the PlayStation 3. The cost of having movies and TV shows streamed to your TV via the PS3 will be as low as $8.99 a month. For starters, in order to enable Netflix on your PS3 you’ll need to use a Blu-ray disc that makes use of the BD-Live technology.

Apple goes after Woolworths’ new logo

Apple is once again on a legal offensive, this time the target being Australia-based supermarket chain Woolworths and its green new logo. The Woolworths logo, which is a ‘W’ stylized to look like an apple, is not the Cupertino company’s liking who thinks it resembles with own apple too much. As a result, Apple will be asking IP Australia to reject Woolworths’ trademark application for the logo and thus prevent its use.

Apple App Store passes 2 billion downloads milestone

More bragging comes our way from Cupertino as Apple has stated that over 2 billion applications were downloaded via its App Store. Launched in July 2008, the store currently offers iPhone and iPod touch owners in 77 countries over 85,000 free and commercial apps.
